As a finance major at BYU I had the opportunity to take several technical courses, including Information Systems 111, Information Systems 201, and Finance 425 (Private Equity and Venture Capital). Throughout these courses, I acquired a signficant level of knowledge and experience surrounding multiple workplace skills, including Excel financial modeling (basic financial statements, LBOs, bank statements, scenario analysis, etc.), basic Structured Query Language (SQL), basic Visual Basic for Applications in Excel (VBA), Tableau, basic HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap (how I built this site!), and more. Additionally, while working at Walgreens as a supply chain analyst I was able to further hone my skillset with significant exposure to and use of programs such as SQL, Power Automate, and Microsoft Power BI. All of these technical skills, and others, have equipped me with the necessary and foundational understanding required to use technology in functional data analysis tasks. As this world becomes increasingly driven by data, I have come to strongly feel that the greatest way to position myself for success in my career is to come to better-understand the technology supporting the gathering, processing, and analyzing of that data. Below is a consolidated list summarizing many of these skills, as well as a few other activities with which I have experience.
